Commodore 64 right angle over voltage protector

This product combines an over voltage protection unit with a handy right-angled connector allowing your power cable to exit at the rear of your Commodore 64.

Why do we need over voltage protection? Because the original power supplies are getting on for 40+ years old and the 5v regulator has a tendency to break down causing up to 12v to flow to your C64. This high voltage will destroy every chip inside causing catastrophic damage.
For this reason it is recommended to replace the power supply and we have a fantastic range of new models.

For those that prefer to keep things original then this device will offer protection against the power supply going over 5.5v.
Should this happen, the saver will respond in less than 50ms shutting down the 5v supply to save your precious c64 and illuminating RED to indicate a fault has occurred.
